Why Read (1250 Words)

As many of the readers correctly pulled me up regarding my post on April 1st on how I had sold my company for $1.15 Million dollars as indeed an April Fools. Sorry. However, it did have an underling lesson I wanted to teach and I thought this would be the best was to demonstrate it. The lesson is about expanding you reality and how important it is to success, happiness and wealth in your life. If you wish to know why expanding your reality is so important and why this experiment had incredible results than read on.

Rich Dad Poor Dad

I have been an avid fan and follower of Robert T. Kiyosaki for many years now. Robert is a self made millionaire who went from nothing to retired decamillionaire status in less than 10 years. He is the founder of Richdad.com, an excellent resource of books, videos, games and tapes on becoming free of the rat race and leaving rich. He is modest, down to earth and writes without jargon and so is an ideal place to start to learn about the wealth game and how to play it.

If you have any intention of becoming rich in one generation then I highly recommend getting hold of his books and resources. I get no commission from these links, this is simply to help you take the first step on the road to wealth. I have bought his books for many of my friends and family because I believe in them so strongly.

.

Why Expand Your Reality

In his books, Robert constantly relays advice that he received from his “Rich Dad”, a man who also went from very little to becoming one of the wealthiest men in Hawaii during his lifetime.

In the plan for becoming wealthy Rich Dad religiously drills home the point that the first and hardest step for becoming wealthy is to expand ones reality from where you are now, to where you want to be.

He teaches, and remember that not only did he go from nothing to one of the richest men in Hawaii, but the two sons he taught also have become decamillionaires in a short period of time without his inheritance, that it does not take money or a high IQ to become rich, the reason only 5% of the population do is because 95% do not expand their reality.

.

To Expand Or Not To Expand

The concept of expanding your reality has been regurgitated by many gurus of self help, lifestyle design, success and so on. The core of expanding your reality is imagining and focussing on that which currently does not exist and focussing your thoughts, attitudes and actions towards this dream vision in order to align all your faculties in a configuration that will allow you to make it a reality. Very jargon heavy, very nice in theory, but how practical is it?

.

Expanded Experimentation

My experiment on the 1st of April was to investigate a more creative way on how I could expand my own reality. And also see if anyone thought I was actually capable of selling a company for $1,000,000.

The great thing was, almost everyone did, very few people called me on it. Which is an ego boost, so thank you readers.

Like you, I have plans for my future, for the next year, the next 5, 10 and 20 years. I know where I want to be, the lifestyle I want and I visualize it in great detail in order that what my mind focuses on and what I do today helps build the bridge to my future dreams.

That being said, focusing and visualizing is great but am I really “Changing my reality?. I did not know and when I do not know something I ask questions or I experiment. April fools day was an experiment.

The April Fools Experiment

I have a great readership community on this blog and I believe our communication is good but feel free to disagree. I get a lot of emails from readers and I try to help them on an individual basis as well as a group basis as much as possible. I get great comments on my articles and great feedback on the positive effects my advice is having on peoples lives. This is a great joy to me and the reason I blog, to help myself improve my life and to help others improve their lives.

So my experiment on April 1 was a risk because I didn’t want to mislead people and have them lose faith in my integrity, I hope this has not been the case. By writing that I had sold my company for $1,15 million dollars, however, did produce an incredible paradigm shift in my own thinking.

On my blog I do not fabricate, short of this one post. What I write is a reflection of what I have done or am doing. Over the last six months that I have been blogging the articles I write are like a diary of my journey, documenting my thinking. It is this power I wanted to tap into in order to experiment with expanding my reality.

By writing an article about how I had sold my business for over a million dollars the power of this statement was huge, almost a paradigm shift. I had written that I had sold a million dollar business on a platform where my mind knows I always tell the truth to a readership of between 500 and 1000 people that read my articles and I am accountable to. the fabrications in this one article held very little sway in my minds eye over 78 other articles of telling the truth.

In short, my brain stepped up a gear and my thinking has really expanded.

The power of this blogging platform is more powerful than I could have imagined. By writing this article, though not true, and reading the real life comments from it has completely revolutionized my thinking.

Even though I know consciously it is not true, subconsciously my mind is having trouble thinking otherwise as it has been trained to know I always tell the truth on this blog. It seems to be thinking that selling my business for over a million dollars was actually quite a real deal. It doesn’t care that I don’t actually have the money in the bank or the fact that I have now admitted it was a joke. It seems to believe it and subsequently my thinking has dramatically and drastically changed.

I now feel, more than I ever have before, that someday soon I will indeed be writing a similar article and it won’t be an April fools post. And I don’t just think this in a fanciful way, as I may have done before, I now believe, on a subconscious level, that this is a very real, if not inevitable, likelihood. My reality  has indeed been well and truly expanded. Experiment successful.

To Sum Up

Expanding you reality daily is key to getting the most out of life, not being ordinary and seeing success, wealth and happiness. How you expand you mind is critical and sometimes it takes some creative ways in which to do it.

Other ways, like reading the biographies of great man and women, are more traditional but just as effective and April Fools is a great time to mess with other peoples minds and your own subconscious.

Peace all and thanks for reading.
