Cool. Well, I wish you all the best.
I have never done competitive martial arts, but I want to get into it. I hope to compete in a local Sanshou tournament next year and see where that takes me. Sanshou (or Sanda) is basically for pussies, because you're wearing protective gear. But it's rules make it very interesting to compete in, in my opinion.

I was training pretty intensively for 3 months as I was planning to move out to Thailand and do some Thai Boxing camps. No previous background save for some unarmed combat training with the Para's. I am now living in Bangkok so will get myself into the ring one of these days. I would definitely recommend MMA for all round "street fighting" competence and especially focus on Muay Thai, Kick boxing and Jujitsu. It is one hell of an experience, just remember to stock up on ice.

Ah, a fellow martial artist. :)
If I may ask, how long have you been training in MMA? And did you train another style before?

I have a background in Wing-Chun, some armed styles and Muay Thai and I've been thinking about starting with MMA sometime.
