In my post “ How to live a great life abroad without having a job” I advocated that one could get up to 300-400% interest on their money by moving to where currency exchange is favorable. I don’t generally make rash statements without proof to back it up unless I am trying to impress girls.
Here is the proof that experiencing the world doesn’t have to cost the earth if you take full advantage of currency exchange.

That’s impressive. You mean all those things for just £122 right?
Exactly my friend.
Great post. I love hearing about how much can be achieved over sees for so little money. And one tactic I use to continue saving for travel is simply ask myself “How many nights accommodation could this get me in Thailand?” Most of the time that’ll get me to rethink my purchases.
True David. A four star hotel with pool and breakfast will cost you about £6 a night when sharing but you can land yourself a backpackers place for less then a pound a night.
Morning elephant! Thanks for the tips and tricks on Thailand. I will commence my trip planning immediately!
Morning Kristin. I’m here for a while. If you happen to make it out to Thailand on your travels I will hook you up.
Love seeing real life examples like this Jonny of living like a king abroad for the same price of trivial stuff @ home. cheers.
Schmidty, your comments are always appreciated here. Look out for “A Day in the Life of a Travelling Entrepreneur” article which will go up on saturday. Glad you liked it.
There are better deals in life, we only need to explore them. There are a lot of good things out there.
There are indeed Walter, there are indeed.
I did that when I was in Australia and went to New Zealand. The American dollar was very strong for a couple weeks compared to the NZ dollar so I exchanged a bunch of money and booked flights for my gf and I to Auckland. Ended up working out perfect and saved a ton of money on top of seeing a country I hadn’t planned on.
That is exactly what Mark of http://migrationology.com is doing in Thailand.

HI Dave, thanks for dropping past. Good on ya for leveraging the currency. I am sure you had a great time. I checked out the link. Also, you have a beautifully designed site. I have subscribed.
Goodness. Thailand here I come?
Lol, drop me a line if you are ever near Bangkok.
Fantastic! Im heading to Thailand in March and have been wondering how much to budget. While I know this isnt the point of your entry, it’s of great use! Thank you =)
Hi Kelly,
Good for you, I am sure you are going to love it. I highly recommend living in Bangkok. You will need to budget about £600 or $800 a month to live very well but you can live on less, depends on what you have available. Definitely let me know how it goes.
Love your site design btw.
