In my post “ How to live a great life abroad without having a job” I advocated that one could get up to 300-400% interest on their money by moving to where currency exchange is favorable. I don’t generally make rash statements without proof to back it up unless I am trying to impress girls.

Great post. I love hearing about how much can be achieved over sees for so little money. And one tactic I use to continue saving for travel is simply ask myself “How many nights accommodation could this get me in Thailand?” Most of the time that’ll get me to rethink my purchases.
True David. A four star hotel with pool and breakfast will cost you about £6 a night when sharing but you can land yourself a backpackers place for less then a pound a night.

I did that when I was in Australia and went to New Zealand. The American dollar was very strong for a couple weeks compared to the NZ dollar so I exchanged a bunch of money and booked flights for my gf and I to Auckland. Ended up working out perfect and saved a ton of money on top of seeing a country I hadn’t planned on.

Good for you, I am sure you are going to love it. I highly recommend living in Bangkok. You will need to budget about £600 or $800 a month to live very well but you can live on less, depends on what you have available. Definitely let me know how it goes.
