I still have a year and a half till I graduate, and I'm trying to figure out what to do. I've always planned on PhD because it kind of runs in the family, and is kind of ingrained in my DNA, but I feel like I would learn more by studying on my own. Only problems with studying on my own are a lack of funding, I wouldn't be nearly as well networked, and I wouldn't end up with any "officially recognized" credentials.
